About Us

Founder Merkeshia McKnight had a passion for food ever since her grandmother let her watch as she moved around the kitchen to prepare various southern dishes for family occasions and celebration in Alabama. But, because Merkeshia came from a family of great cooks, she was never allowed to cook anything for the family. She was only allowed to watch as her grandmother prepared festive meals. Most importantly, because Merkeshia had such admiration to help, she became the errand runner and picked up ingredients that were forgotten. In college, Merkeshia begin to prepare nightly meals for her roommates, creating her own dishes, exploring different ingredients, and perfecting dishes that have been passed down her family for generation.

Merkeshia and Ray discovered their love for cooking at an early age. At any opportunity to entertain, they create new dishes that captures the flavor and spirit of their guest. Her baked beans along with his jerk ribs became a staple for gatherings. With simple beginnings, their passion for cooking, baking and creating ignited.

Merkeshia and Ray interests were reinforced in recent years. They catered a birthday party for a close friend and it was amazing the responses received from the guest. It was at that moment that Merkeshia and Ray realized that it was time to pursue a career in the catering industry.
